WE NEED TO START TALKING, NORMALISING THE CONVERSATION ABOUT PERINATAL MENTAL ILL-HEALTH. TO BREAK DOWN THE STIGMA THAT PREVENTS WOMEN FROM SEEKING TIMELY HELP. COMMUNICATION UNDERPINS CHANGE AND WE CAN PREVENT THE SEVERITY AND TRAUMA HAPPENING TO FUTURE GENERATIONS.

Finding the right help

If you don't feel yourself we urge you to start talking.

1. See your health care provider.  Book an appointment with your GP and be open and ask them to complete a mental health care plan.

2. See a specialist (therapist / psychologist)

To help you find support for emotional and mental health problems you may experience when having a baby, COPE has developed the e-COPE Directory, which includes services and professionals that have a special focus on emotional and mental health in pregnancy and the following the birth of a baby.

3. Call or text a Postpartum support service.

We HAVE got you!

We are here to help, sometimes all you need to know is where to start.

We have made a full list of  steps to start your journey to recovery.
